Joseph Lawrence "Lary" Kuharich Jr. (December 20, 1945 – November 13, 2016) was an American football coach known in part for his time spent with the Arena Football League. Kuharich's coaching career started with an offensive coordinator position with the Tampa Bay Storm in 1991, aiding them in their first ArenaBowl title in franchise history. The next year, he was promoted to head coach, and in three years with the team, Kuharich had a 25-9 record in the regular season and won an additional ArenaBowl in 1993. After stepping away from the AFL in 1995, Kuharich returned as the head coach of the Connecticut Coyotes, but his success in Tampa would not correlate to success elsewhere. As the head coach of the Coyotes and New York CityHawks the following year, he accumulated a 4-24 record, a far cry from his efficiency with the Storm. From 1998 to 2000, Kuharich was an assistant coach for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL, until returning to the AFL to serve as head coach of the New Jersey Gladiators. For the third-straight time as head coach, Kuharich posted a 2-12 regular season record and was fired the following offseason. His AFL resumé would include multiple offensive coordinator positions from that point, joining the New York Dragons, Arizona Rattlers, Nashville Kats, and Columbus Destroyers before leaving the league altogether.
