The Detroit Fury is a franchise primarily recognized by the Arena Football League. Entering the league in 2001, the team was owned in-part by Detroit sports royalty, including the late William Davidson, who owned the Detroit Pistons, and William Clay Ford, Jr., son of the late William Clay Ford, owner of the Detroit Lions. These names of note wouldn't provide much as the team only lasted four years in the AFL, folding after the 2004 season. The Detroit Fury also has some notoriety for being involved with the only time in league history where the head coach one year was replaced by their son the following year.
