Arvell Nelson (born September 27, 1988) is an American football quarterback and occasional linebacker for the Washington Valor of the Arena Football League. His debut in the AFL was as the back-up to Erik Meyer for the Spokane Shock in 2013—and while his main position is quarterback, he was used in various other positions, including receiver and linebacker. While early in his career he made more of an impact on defense, his first experience starting as a full-time quarterback came with the Cleveland Gladiators in 2016. After the team went inactive, Nelson would play for the Indoor Football League before returning to the AFL for the Washington Valor halfway through the 2018 season, where he would lead the team to victory in ArenaBowl XXXI, earning MVP honors for his performance in that game.
